Resources, Environment and Sustainability (RES) is a peer-reviewed transdisciplinary journal founded by the Lishui Institute of Ecology and Environment, Nanjing University and published by Elsevier BV, aiming at publishing high-quality original research from resources, environment, and sustainable development.

Focusing on the integration of natural, social, and engineering fields, RES emphasizes sustainable resource utilization, associated environmental impact mitigation, and potential solutions to achieve resource and environmental sustainability. Our major mission is to bridge the gap between academia across disciplines and policy making by facilitating a combinatorial and cross-disciplinary platform that works towards strategic approaches to conserve natural resources and the environment. RES covers a variety of research areas, including but not limited to sustainable agriculture and food production, sustainable manufacturing and cleaner production, circular economy and waste management, life cycle assessment, sustainable development and sustainability, sustainable consumption, and environmental quality improvement and remediation. In addition to publishing original research and analyses, RES will publish Reviews, Viewpoints, Comments, and Editorials from across the full range of disciplines concerned with sustainable resource supply and environmental sustainability, becoming one of the most important flagship journals in the field of resources, environment and sustainable development.

RES Journal's 2024 JCR Impact Factor is 7.8, with a CiteScore of 18.5. It ranks in Q1 in the field of environmental science. RES has been indexed by major domestic and foreign databases such as ESCI, EI Compendex, Scopus, GEOBASE, GeoRef, WorldCat, CAB Abstracts, and CNKI, with its academic influence and international recognition continuously rising.
